About Lights Under Louisville

Each year the Louisville MEGA Cavern is transformed into an underground holiday light spectacular for the Christmas season. Load up the kids and enjoy a 30 minute ride through part of 17 miles of underground passageways, which features over 850 lit characters with over 2,000,000 points of light. It's the only underground light show of its kind on the planet.

MEGA Cavern's Lights Under Louisville allows the public to drive their own vehicles inside the cavern, during the Christmas season, to experience this one of a kind holiday transformation. It's a great way to get your family in the mood this holiday season, so load up the kids and enjoy the sights and sounds of Lights Under Louisville.

How many lights will I see?

We have over 2,000,000 points of light.

Do You Drive Your Own Car?

Yes. This is the only place on the planet where you get to drive your own car through a cavern filled with Christmas lights. You will take a 1.2 mile journey through the cavern while viewing over 850 light displays, some of which are 25 feet tall and 200 feet wide.

What Kind of Lights Do You Use?

Lights Under Louisville was the first Christmas light in the U.S.A. to use all LED lights. We do that to conserve power.

How Many People Can I Bring in One Car?

The cost of the light show is "by the carload" so there is no limit to the number of people per car. However, since there are light displays on both sides of the car, it would be best if each person can view the lights from both sides of the vehicle.

Do I Pay By the Person?

No... we charge by the carload.

Can I Buy My Ticket in Advance?

There is no need to buy your ticket in advance since we take cash at the door.

What is the best time to visit the show to avoid crowds?

Monday through Thursday is the best time to avoid the crowds. Also coming in the last hour of the show each night will almost assure that you will not have to wait in line.

MOTOR COACH & GROUP ADMISSION (20 or more)

For 2015, we have widened the route so that motor coaches are able to easily drive through our underground holiday light show. We have lowered the cost down to $4.00 per person, and as always, tour operator/driver are no charge. Motor Coaches are given first priority upon arrival and will be sent down our express lane to avoid long waits. Motor Coaches are invited to come between 6PM and 10PM Monday - Friday, and between 5PM and 10PM Saturday/Sunday. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED!
