ABOUT MEGA WALKING TOUR

Requirements: Must be at least 7 years old and in good walking condition. Anyone under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult on tour. Everyone must wear closed toed shoes and dressed comfortably for 58-60 degree temps underground.

This is a 70-minute excursion through Louisville Mega Cavern. Enjoy all the spectacular sites, fascinating historical facts and much more!

This attraction accommodates 13 people per tour.

The Historic Walking Tour will take you on an underground adventure that is simply HUGE in scale!

The man-made cavern spans under several roadways above and is part of 17 miles of corridors located beneath the city of Louisville, Kentucky.

Louisville MEGA Cavern in an all-weather attraction. The temperature inside the cavern hovers at a comfortable 58 to 60 degrees year-round.

Mega Walking Tour FAQ

What kind of surfaces will I be walking on?

The surface trails consist of pavement, dirt, small rock and some areas of light mud.

Are pictures and video allowed?

Please do take pictures and video with your own device and at your own risk.

Do I need to take anything with me?

We will equip you with a safety vest and a flashlight. You will be required to wear shoes and dress comfortably for 58-60 degree temps underground. Your shoes may get dirty.

I am claustrophobic. Is this a good tour for me?

There are no tight spaces and we won’t be asking you to crawl. The Mega Cavern is full of large open spaces.

Is it dark?

It is dark in certain areas of the Cavern. Most areas have some lighting and we will equip you with a flashlight for a little extra comfort.
